Welcome

Prayer for Bradford provides an opportunity for churches in Bradford to come together to pray for all aspects of our city and the surrounding region (especially Leeds and York) and to take action as appropriate.

In particular we are praying for the people in these areas, that God would bless them, encourage them and challenge them to change where change is necessary. [For honesty & integrity, peace and harmony]

Additionally we support each other and seek to promote unity between the churches in Bradford. (As Psalm 133 says: ‘where there is unity, there the Lord commands His blessing.’ Through this unity we hope to have an increasingly significant Christian voice in the city that both influences and responds to events, issues, etc.

Prayer for Bradford organises and/or supports city wide events and initiatives (see Projects):

We have quarterly prayer meetings of Prayer and Praise where church ministers and church members from across the city can come together to pray and worship together. These are great times. [See coming events for further details].

Other events being hosted in Bradford are also included on the coming events page.

About 25 ministers from various churches come together every fortnight for a prayer breakfast. During each breakfast we have a specific area to focus on. This would often involve a Christian to provide knowledge and insight in the area we are praying for that morning.

Ladies from around the city also meet once a month [see coming events for more details].

We usually start the breakfast with prayer and fellowship together as ministers who are all working towards the same Christian goals under the one Lord, Jesus.

Howard Astin, the Vicar at St John’s, East Bowling, provides an overall Co-ordinating Leadership role, and has done so faithfully for many years.

We would encourage as many churches and ministers as possible to get involved when they can. Why not sign up to our e-mailing list to get further information?

Hope Bradford: Prayer for Bradford is fully supporting the nationwide initiative Hope 2008, of which Hope Bradford is a part - see coming events for more details
